Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ most popular as parents look for platforms that appeal to entire family

As we keep our finger firmly on the pulse of current consumer trends, Parent Tested Parent Approved wanted to do a deeper dive into children’s and family streaming preferences in 2023.

So we went straight to the source: parents.

The streaming industry continues to grow at a rapid pace, but the landscape has changed over the past few years. A few of the newer kids on the block have stormed into the streaming space, looking to put a dent in the armour of industry giants like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

How effective have they been? We surveyed select members from our community of over a quarter million parents looking for answers on how children and families consume content on streaming platforms.

What streaming services offer the best bang for the buck? Which platform has the best content for children? If you could only choose one service to keep, which one would it be? How much do you spend monthly on streaming platforms?

As the current economy continues to put a strain on family budgets, parents are looking to get the most out of their family entertainment dollars.

Here is what over 2,000 parents told us.

A majority of respondents subscribed to at least three platforms, with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ the most popular in households.
